let's backtrack.

dad left for another conference last night. but he's stopping over in london for a while to meet his mom and sisters.

my mom hates it, obviously. that's why she didn't go along too.

anyway he was going to visit gee so gee sends me an sms the day of his departure entitled URGENT.

and tells me to find her longines watch and go to lee hwa to buy her a ring.

which i actually don't mind doing though. since i'm all free with nothing to do.

if you're interested, she bought the three stone (amethyst,topaz and quartz) contempo ring from the Xtraordinare fall series.

my sis has good taste. can't deny that.

sometimes i envy the way she manages to blend quirky into classic.

when i try to be quirky i just end up looking weird.

and she jsut called to thank me for it.
well not her per se. was on the phone with dad, and he mentioned that he's passed her the ring. and then she overhears and yells "tell her thank you" in the background.

it's a really nice ring.
one of those things that when you first see it looks weird in the ring-box and then when you see it on her it actually looks nice..

and when she comes over to singapore, people cannot believe that we're sisters.
i keep telling myself it's because i'm taller, so people don't expect her to be shorter than me.

or that she's got the london uptown accent, while i'm still stuck with the typical singaporean unglam drawl.

but who am i kidding, anyway.
